Trip to the Orthodontist

My last day of leisure before spiralling into the deep fulfilling vortex of 'employment'! Thank goodness! Looking forward to it!

The little sliver of an outing was had by taking Tanya to the Ortho..her first and by the looks of it all set to be last! Her convent school is 1 hour by bus and for me by car should have been a mere 20 minutes (to pick her up during lunch break)..but as always I lose my way..why? no idea except for the fact I have learnt to reach the school down the long winding wrong road so I get lost every single time before getting back on track. Tanya says she does not understand why. She says follow the signpost to the village, mum and my school is very conveniently and very clearly perched on top of a hill to be seen for miles around. Simple logic for an 11 year old..I am the one perched atop the hill, slowly but surely going over...

The Orthodontist was a nice enough man but there felt a sense of deja vu when he said to Tanya that she does not need braces and has a perfect set of teeth, very healthy and to be proud of, and sent us on our way! I was transported back to those few years ago when my cousin and I (both sporting a perfect mouthful of dentures)took an autorickshaw one fine morning to Trivandrum Dental College and said to the Ortho 'we both require braces!' only to be sent off on our way with a click of the tongue and a roll of the eyes..'teenagers!'
